Required notices and attribution
Wording the publishers' terms ask us to show wherever their data appears.
Company IR event and earnings calendars. none required for dates. Every row cites the company's own IR page (our rule).
Headline macro series from the agencies. BLS: "BLS.gov cannot vouch for the data or analyses derived from these data after the data have been retrieved from BLS.gov." BEA and Census: "This product uses the [agency] Data API but is not endorsed or certified by [agency]." NY Fed (effective federal funds rate): "not responsible for publication of the Effective Federal Funds Rate by Finance Desk, does not sanction or endorse any particular republication, and has no liability for your use." Fed, Treasury, DOL, EIA: cite the agency as source.
FX reference rates (Fed H.10 and ECB). Fed H.10: cite the Board. ECB: the ECB must be cited as source; information must 'appear accurately'; if modified (for example converted or recalculated) this must be stated explicitly; and where information is incorporated in documents that are sold, buyers must be told (before they pay and each time they access it) that it may be obtained free of charge through the ECB website.
Researched news and company profiles. none required for facts; we cite the original URL on every row. Wikipedia and wire/press-release text keep their own rules.
CFTC Commitments of Traders. "it is requested that in any subsequent use the CFTC be given appropriate acknowledgement" (no fixed wording). Do not use the CFTC seal; do not imply endorsement.
FOMC statements, minutes and projections. Cite the Board as the source (no fixed wording).
Company operating metrics (shareholder letters, IR decks). none required by SEC (it asks that users cite the SEC as source). We cite the filing/exhibit URL per our rule.
EIA energy data. Use an acknowledgment that includes the publication date, e.g. "Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration (Oct 2008)." API terms: use the 'EIA' or 'U.S. Energy Information Administration' name to identify the source; do not imply endorsement; the EIA logo may not be used without written permission; quoted EIA text must be distinguishable from ours.
Federal Reserve statistical releases (H.15, H.8, H.4.1). "Please cite to the Board as the source of the information." (no fixed wording). Do not use Fed seals/logos or imply Fed membership/endorsement.
ClinicalTrials.gov. Attribute the source of the data as ClinicalTrials.gov; clearly display the date the data were processed by ClinicalTrials.gov; state any modifications with a complete description; keep data current.
Binance market data. Vision datasets only: attribution to Binance Vision and CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (we do not use Vision data). No attribution rule found for live API data.
Market calendars and corporate actions. none required by SEC; NYSE/ICE grant none. We cite the NYSE page (source_url) per our own rule.
Official macro release calendars. BLS asks that the Bureau of Labor Statistics be cited as source; the Fed asks to 'cite to the Board as the source'. No required wording. Do not use agency logos/seals.
European Central Bank statistics. The ECB must be cited as the source; information must appear accurately; if modified (e.g. seasonal adjustment or growth-rate calculation) this must be stated explicitly. No fixed wording prescribed.
BEA detail tables. "This product uses the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Data API but is not endorsed or certified by BEA." Must be displayed prominently within the application. The BEA name may be used to identify the source but not to imply endorsement.
BLS detail series. Must state clearly: "BLS.gov cannot vouch for the data or analyses derived from these data after the data have been retrieved from BLS.gov." Users of the API 'should cite the date that data were accessed'. Cite BLS as source. The BLS logo may not be used on products that are not BLS-sponsored.
EDINET (Japan) corporate filings. Source line (EDINET example, Japanese): '出典：EDINET閲覧（提出）サイト（当該ページのURL）、PDL1.0（規約原文ページのURL）'. If edited or processed, also state that and who did it, e.g. 'EDINET閲覧（提出）サイト（URL）をもとに○○株式会社作成'; never present processed data as if government-made and unprocessed.
Census economic indicators. "This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau." Must be displayed prominently. The Census Bureau name may identify the source but may not imply endorsement.
Bank of England statistics. SONIA data: 'SONIA and/or SONIA Compounded Index data licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and copyright the Governor and Company of the Bank of England.' Other Database data: OGL v3.0 default 'Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.' unless the Bank specifies a statement (link to the licence where possible).
Eurostat. Customised datasets: 'Source: [Eurostat dataset datacode link], [access date]'. Source must be acknowledged; modifications must be stated; a disclaimer of Eurostat's non-responsibility must be included when reuse involves modified data.
Stablecoin supply (on-chain). none required. Alchemy and the explorers ask nothing; we link the explorer token page as source_url.
USDA crop and food data (WASDE, NASS). NASS (required wherever NASS API data is shown): "This product uses the NASS API but is not endorsed or certified by NASS." USDA website content (WASDE): credit requested as "U.S. Department of Agriculture."
Earnings call transcripts (company-posted): links only. none; we store the company's own URL and call date.
NRC reactor status and licensing milestones. Credit is requested, not required: 'NRC would appreciate the courtesy of credit for the publication.'
USPTO patents and published applications. Requested (not mandatory): 'Source: United States Patent and Trademark Office, www.uspto.gov'
OECD statistics. Use the citation associated with the Data, else: 'OECD (year), (dataset name),(data source) DOI or URL (accessed on (date))'. Include the same acknowledgment requirement in any sub-licences, and require further sub-licensees to do the same.
World Bank open data and commodity prices. Format: 'The World Bank: Dataset name: Data source (if known)', as indicated in the dataset metadata. When sharing or facilitating access, include the same acknowledgment requirement in any sub-licences and require sub-licensees to do the same (a URL to the terms satisfies it). Indicate changes. Do not imply World Bank endorsement or use its name/logo.
