Orion rack-scale architecture

A bring-your-own-GPU or CPU rack reference design built on Astera's 320-lane PCIe switch fabric. It scales from 8 to 160 GPUs per pod, is split into six reference designs, and is managed with COSMOS software. Astera plans to extend it to open interconnects including UALink.↗ source

Why it matters to the stock. Orion moves Astera from selling chips into selling full rack designs. The company is pursuing a bigger share of the value in each AI rack, so Orion is a test of whether OEMs and ODMs will adopt the design.
