Bank of America
What matters nowUpdated 23 h ago
- Bank of America reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $6.9 billion, or $0.91 per diluted share (year earlier: $8.3 billion). A $1.2 billion regulatory settlement charge tied to anti-money-laundering and sanctions consent orders cut $0.17 from EPS; excluding it, earnings were about $8.1 billion, or roughly $1.08 per share.
- Revenue rose about 3% to $30.0 billion. Markets revenue fell 5% and investment banking fees fell about 11%, in line with the warning CEO Brian Moynihan gave on September 14, when the shares fell about 5%. The bank returned $8.3 billion to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
- Rates backdrop: the Fed raised the federal funds target range 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00% on September 16 in a 12-0 vote, which supports net interest income on a large deposit base.
- Business updates: CashPro launched Payments Insights on September 28 on a platform that handled 213 million payments in the first half of 2026. Preferred dividends on eight series are payable from October 26 to November 3.
- Next on the calendar: Q4 and full-year 2026 earnings, estimated around January 14, 2027, and the FY2026 Form 10-K, estimated around February 24, 2027. Watch for further regulatory-settlement costs and whether investment banking fees recover.
Bank of America is one of the largest US banks, with about $3.4 trillion in assets at December 31, 2025.
